The graduating class of 2019 marked Metro's 10th commencement and the largest class of graduate to date, as students from Metro Early College High School and Metro Institute of Technology walked across the stage to receive their diplomas.
This year's graduating class earned over 3,800 college credits before graduation - representing about $2 million in college tuition savings to families. In addition, class of 2019 graduates were offered over $10 million in scholarships and boasted three National Merit Scholarship finalists. Graduates put in over 35,000 hours of community service during their Metro years and raised funds for outstanding causes like pediatric cancer research at Nationwide Children's Hospital, through collaboration with The Ohio State University's BuckeyeThon.
Special thanks to commencement speaker Lewis Von Thaer, CEO of Battelle Memorial Institute, for his words of encouragement and challenge to the graduating class. Thanks as well to all former and current Metro administrators who paved the way for Metro's continued growth and success.
