At a special meeting August 6, the Metro Schools Governing Board voted to approve a plan to start fall semester 2020 with virtual classes for all students. The move is based on the current alert level in the state's health advisory system.
The original restart plan gave families the option of all-virtual instruction or a blended platform (a combination of in-person and virtual days). To provide for the safety of students and staff, all classes will be held online when school begins later this month. The first day for new students will be August 19; all other students will report virtually starting August 20.
Metro administration will base any changes to the current plan on the alert level. There must be four consecutive weeks of decline in the spread of illness before a move to blended instruction will be considered.
