Metro teacher and High School Dean Sharon Barclay was among the inaugural group of educators to earn the Next Gen Personal Finance (NGPF) Distinguished Educator Award. The award recognizes highly credentialed teachers who have earned six or more NGPF Certifications through their rigorous professional development courses.
NGPF courses offer training in finance topics such as consumer skills, behavioral economics, investing, banking & budgeting and the psychology of money. The courses require a significant level of work and engagement and an 80%+ passage on a corresponding certification exam.
"The reason I take these courses is to stay current on financial trends so that I can pass this knowledge along to my students," said Mrs. Barclay.
We are grateful for Mrs. Barclay's dedication to her students, who directly benefit from her knowledge and experience in the high school Entrepreneurship class every day.
